Summer in the Son

Quick Facts

Who: Middle School Students and those going into 6th grade. What:  A week geared specifically for Jr High with great activities during the day from a trip to the lake to a park with water slides. Also great evening sessions featuring nationally known speakers and worship leaders who speak to the heart of a Jr high student.

When:  July 8-13, 2012

Where: Grayson, KY (Kentucky Christian University)

How:  Return application by Mar 4th with $75.00 application fee.

Cost: Cost for this trip is approximately $300.00 for the entire week. Not including three meals that we will be eating while traveling.

Summer In The Son is very similar to our high school conference "Move" with two exceptions. First, this conference is only offered in Kentucky, and second, there are no high school students allowed. That's right! This event is strictly for students going into 6th grade - 8th grade.

This is again a great way for new students entering into our youth ministry to get to know us outside of Sunday programs. Also, this is a great trip to invite your friends to. It will be a time of growing closer as a group and growing closer to God.

Filled with headlining bands and nationally known speakers, the evening sessions are designed to meet Jr high students right where they are and help them to grasp the life that God is desiring them to live. During the day there are pools with water slides and a lake to go swimming, rock band, Wii, pool tables and more. Our students who went last year tell me every week (yes, every week!) that they can't wait to go back!

Our annual youth banquet/auction helps to offset the cost of the trip as well as other fundraisers throughout the year. Each student is required to commit to specified training sessions and participate in our fundraisers in order to attend this conference and to receive financial assistance.
