You can sign up by contacting Mike Russell. Just pick and day and a block of time that you could commit to and we can teach you the rest. We will be doing this from now until Easter and could use all the help we can get.
Opportunity to Help an Etters Family Sophia Thompson’s co-worker lost her daughter last week very unexpectedly and far too young. This is Sophie’s request for help for the family who is now faced with unexpected expenses in addition to the emotional loss. If you are able to help, please note your check accordingly. “It looks like they need to raise $8,000 to have a service and burial. As of now, they don't have any money to spare and are facing the choice to have her cremated, against her final wishes. The community here in Etters is getting involved, especially Micki at Dairy Delights and their local girl scout troop. $8,000 is a lot to raise in so little time, but I'm confident that God is at work. The family set up a care account at the Newberry Commons Member's 1st Federal Credit Union. Anyone feeling called to donate can send their donations to the Care Account of Emma Lees. They can include the account number, 461451, in the memo line. Ultimately though, prayers for the family are much needed. My cashier's name is Emma Nickle, her daughter's name was Emma Lees. Pray that God keeps his hand around the family; they are facing a lot of tough financial pits, in addition to her passing. $8,000 is a lot to raise; 5,000 people were a lot to feed. All things are possible. God bless,” Sophia Thompson

Capital Area Pregnancy Center’s “Baby Bottle Blast!” We are once again participating in CAPC’s annual “Baby Bottle Blast” fundraiser running from Mother’s Day (5/13) to Father’s Day (6/17). We are encouraging every family to pick up at least one baby bottle and fill it with spare change/bills/checks and return it to the church by Father’s Day. Remember to pray for moms, dads, and their unborn children during this time. A few interesting stats:
- $20 will pay for 12 women to receive a free pregnancy test and accurate information on their options.
- $30 will pay for 12 women to receive a “Hope” Bible designed for women facing an unplanned pregnancy.
- $40 will pay for 1 woman to receive an ultrasound and see her unborn child for the first time.
- $50 will pay for 10 clients to receive CAPC’s “Basic Decision Making” materials.
- $75 will provide Bible study workbooks for 8 women to receive Biblical counsel in a post-abortion support group.

Faith in Action Cooking Project One of the projects that was part of our last Serve Fest consisted of a team of folks who spent the day hard at work cooking in the kitchen. The meals and desserts prepared were then frozen and given out to various community organizations and families within CACC in the ensuing months. That supply of home-cooked food has been depleted, and the cooking team would like to prepare some additional meals. The cost of this project is in the neighborhood of $600. We are asking for monetary donations so that food can be purchased for this project. To date we have received $150 in donations. Checks should be made payable to CACC, with “cooking project” in the memo line. If you have any questions about this project, or if you would like to be on the cooking team, please contact Lori Cartmill. Thanks for your help & support!
