Biggest Loser Updates

2 March 2010
It’s been nearly two weeks since I started this weight loss journey. Honestly, it’s been mostly very difficult and sometimes downright miserable! However, I am continuing to persevere. I’ve cut way back on portion size, eating mostly low carb foods and drinking lots of water. I’m working out regularly. I generally like the elliptical machine, so I’m doing at least a half hour per session. I’ve been weight training as well. Right now my chest it really sore from a hard workout two days ago. No pain, no gain.

The first seven or eight days did not seem very fruitful. I only lost a pound or so. That fact was very frustrating. I want to weigh less and I want to weigh less now! Guess it doesn’t work that way.

But yesterday was a red letter day. I had lost nearly six pounds! I started at just over 286 and finally dipped below 280. One of those weigh-in moments is a big boost to the morale.

So, I’ll keep at it. I just read an article on interval training in the newspaper. It was rather interesting. Some researchers are now reporting that high intensity interval training, like that which athletes do, is the best kind of exercise. I think you measure it by the sweat factor and the gut wrenching expression upon your face. When you turn the color of red on your iPod lock button, you’re getting there. These people obviously don’t know that some of us get tired just walking into the gym. I sometimes spend a half hour waiting for the parking space closest to the door.

I’ll be sending information along this week about the project we’ve chosen for these funds. This project will provide Haitians with good food and fresh fish indefinitely.

I’m still looking for supporters. You can sign up online at www.CapitalAreaChurch.com/biggestloser.
